Week 8 : The DC Motor

Objective: To identify about and research about DC Motor

Analysis/Procedure:
DC motor is defined as an electric motor which is mechanically commutated and is powered from direct current (DC). DC motors functions by converting electrical energy from power source into mechanical energy which to start the rotation of the motor. A DC motor works when a current carrying wire in placed in an area of magnetic field and resulting to a force.

Force = (current ) * ( wire length ) * ( magnetic field )

The advantages of using DC motor are it can take a direct current power supply, can control variable speed and also has high torque. There are a few aspects will influence the size of the force. Those aspects are the amount of current in the wire, the length of the wire and the strength of the magnetic field.

Conclusion :
Further research is needed and I have to list certain components for my project.

Week 7: Concept of Android

Objective: To identify and research about the concept of android system.

Analysis / Procedure :
  • Android is a Java-based operating system to develop applications for Android.
  • It consists of a set of development tools such as a debugger, software libraries, a handset emulator, documentation, sample code, and tutorials.
  • Android devices have features which are the numerous communication interfaces like WiFi, Bluetooth and GSM/UMTS and USB.
  • It’s based on direct manipulation in which the user will be using touch inputs like swiping, tapping, pinching and reverse pinching to manipulate on-screen objects.

Week 6 The Block Diagram

Objective: To identify the overall picture of the system of the project.

Analysis/Procedure:

During researching about my project, I've come out with this block diagram. This is only a draft block diagram which shows the components needed to build this project. Below is the block diagram:

Figure 1

Figure 2

Explanation:

Figure 1
  • The microcontroller are representing Arduino.
  • The microcontroller need a 12 V supply.
  • 2 DC motor use for this project.
  • There is a motor driver that function as the brain for the motor.
  • Decoder  used for transmitting the signal to the microcontroller.
Figure 2
  • First, all the input and output being connected to the Arduino ( microcontroller ).
  • The signal being deliver wirelessly by the Bluetooth.
  • The motor can be control by the develop interface of android smartphone.
Conclusion:

I need to identify and make researches about all the components needed.

Week 5 : Details About Project

Title    : Designing of Motor Operated Control System Using Android Smartphone.

 About :
  •  Designing an operating motor control system that can be operated using Android mobile phone.
  • The controlling of the motor is done wirelessly through Android smart phone using the Bluetooth feature.
  • The speed and direction of the motor is being control and indicated by the android system.
Problem Statement
  • The usage of wire remote control of motor.
  • Consume more energy in controlling the speed of motor.
Objectives :
  • To control the motor system wirelessly through mobile phone.
  • To develop learning kit for student regarding the motor.
  • To develop Android system for motor controlling.
  • To develop Bluetooth wireless transmission for system connection.
Previous Project :
