Week 8 : The DC Motor

Objective: To identify about and research about DC Motor

Analysis/Procedure:
DC motor is defined as an electric motor which is mechanically commutated and is powered from direct current (DC). DC motors functions by converting electrical energy from power source into mechanical energy which to start the rotation of the motor. A DC motor works when a current carrying wire in placed in an area of magnetic field and resulting to a force.

Force = (current ) * ( wire length ) * ( magnetic field )

The advantages of using DC motor are it can take a direct current power supply, can control variable speed and also has high torque. There are a few aspects will influence the size of the force. Those aspects are the amount of current in the wire, the length of the wire and the strength of the magnetic field.

Conclusion :
Further research is needed and I have to list certain components for my project.
